Crazy remix from Dorrough. I'm not a fan of Dorrough but since it was produced by my favorite Jahlil Beats, I had to give it a listen. Surprisingly, I'm glad a gave it a chance because Dorrough, Ace Hood, Nipsey Hussle & Yo Gotti go well with the beat, and this track is a banger. Something to bump in the car.

Rolling Stone Review on MGK's 'Half Naked and Almost Famous'

I thought this was an excellent write-up on MGK and what he is all about. He is an upcoming rapper, known for partying hard, but this article shows there's a lot more to it than that. Enjoy.

Machine Gun Kelly is more vulnerable than his "wild boy" persona lets on. The Cleveland, Ohio rapper, whose clamorous live sets and fanbase of "ragers" have branded him a contender for hip-hop's resident rocker, reveals a softer side on his Half Naked & Almost Famous EP, his first official release through Diddy's Bad Boy label and a companion piece to a 90-minute documentary.

On cuts like "See My Tears" and "EST 4 Life," Kelly points the pen inward, reflecting on his mainstream ascent and questioning what the future holds. The five-track set also includes two previously released tracks – the blistering "Wild Boys," featuring Waka Flocka Flame, and the Cassie-assisted "Warning Shot," where Kelly barks over bombastic soundscapes.

"I'm probably one of the wildest, most out-of-control people in the industry," says the 21-year-old, who was arrested for disorderly conduct in January after a gig in Florida. "I don't give a fuck about the masses; I'm not here for them. I'm here to make an impact on the kids who truly care. I'm not going to beg for attention and shit."

MGK is at his most raucous in the documentary, which was shot during last year's Warped Tour and features footage of him coughing up blood from a throat infection ("We fuckin' bleed this shit," he boasts) and tripping on mushrooms ("I'm definitely a boomer").

"I was a huge punker growing up," says Kelly, whose real name is Richard Baker. "On my body, shit, if you want to talk about rock stars, I've got Tommy Lee's Mayhem (logo) tattooed on my wrist. I got fuckin' Chili Peppers on my elbow. I got scars all over my fuckin' hands from fighting and just dumb shit. Hip-hop influences my talent, but I think that punk and everything else I listened to growing up was who my idols were. That's why drugs also got involved in my life. I idolized the wrong people, like Nikki Sixx and Kurt Cobain."

Kelly's rise has caught the attention of Tech N9ne, who invited the rapper to join his Hostile Takeover; the trek will hit 90 cities in 99 days and kick off on March 24th in in Kansas City. The rapper's history of road rage preceded him, resulting in an imposed list of guidelines for him to follow over the three-month run. "No afterparties, no clubs, no smoking...We have a very bad road reputation," Kelly says. "Rules are meant to be broken."

Kelly, who is diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, also plans to showcase his more extreme and subdued sides on his upcoming summer debut LP, Lace Up. Recorded before he signed with Bad Boy last August, it features a collaboration with Tech N9ne – but the rapper remains tightlipped about the rest. When asked why "Warning Shot," which originally featured Livvi Franc on its hook, now features Cassie, his tongue turns cold. But he assures that he maintained creative control over the project.

"Lace Up is going to be recognized by the Grammys. It's going to be one of those things that goes down in history as one of the best albums, period. It's kind of like Adele's 21. It was this perfect time in a person's life, and she made a soundtrack for it. Lace Up is the same way," says Kelly. "When it's time for you to know who I am, it'll be the right time. I'm not going to convince you to know who I am. I don't care."

ASAP Rocky & Crew get into brawl at SXSW

ASAP Rocky and ASAP mob brawl with crowd at SXSW show.

A$AP Rocky and his crew got into a fight with drunken attendees of the Vice Kills Texas party at SXSW around 3:00 am Sunday Morning.

Spinner.com reports what went down, ASAP Rocky and his mob were on stage when one of the mob members got his do-rag taken from a stage-diver. Supposedly the show was stopped and the ASAP crew demanded its return. Someone in the crowd then a threw a beer can which hit a rapper on stage. Rocky tried to defuse the situation, but another beer can was thrown on stage and hit someone else. Rocky warned the crowd of throwing anything on stage besides water. More stuff was then thrown on stage, and that's when the ASAP crew jumped into the crowd, and a fight broke out. Although most of the crowd tried to move away, some of the attendees got into a full-out altercation with ASAP Rocky and crew. Spinner reports that at least one crowd member had a gash on his head.

Eventually security cleared the room, and police shut down the show.

My Top 5 (rap)

Since I'm just getting started with this blog, I figured I'll let you get to know me better and what kind of music I listen to.
Today, I'm going to let you in on my 5 favorite rap artists in the game right now.

1. Curren$y - I love how you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy Curren$y's music. He has chill beats and his lyrics are always on point. Sometimes he is accused of being a 'weed rapper', but that is definitely not the case.

2. Wale - I love how diverse Wale is, he raps about so many different topics and his album "Ambition" was one of my favorites of the year. He is signed to MMG, so you know he is always going to have fresh beats.

3. Meek Mill - Meek is another MMG rapper straight outta Philly. He can spit with the best of them and goes hard on every track he is on.Meek is coming for the top spot, and might be taking over the rap game shortly. Watch out!

4. Kendrick Lamar - Kendrick is the West Coast savior right now and has proved that he is the best from the west. He probably has some of the best lyrics in the business and now that he signed a deal with Interscope Records, his production will be on point too.

5. Yelawolf - This is usually the music I'll be bumpin in my whip. The man makes TRUNK MUSIK! Yela is a fast-spitting rapper and once he learns how to ride a beat better he will be up there with the best of them.

HONORABLE MENTION: Wiz Khalifa (love his old stuff and Kush + OJ), Big KRIT (Dirty-South Rapper), and J.Cole (Lyrics are on point) Los(Great lyrics and can really flow to a beat, just waiting for him to get a deal)

Artist Spotlight - Week 1 (Shawn Chrystopher)

Artist Spotlight is a weekly thing I will be doing on my blog. I am going to try and introduce you guys to artist who are just as talented as a lot of the big names, but aren't getting the same recognition.


Today I am going to introduce you to Shawn Chrystopher, a Rapper whose motto is "Honour Role Music".
His debut mixtape  "I.W.G.: I Wear Glasses" was sponsored by LRG and got very good reviews. Shawn has worked with big names such as Big Sean, Mike Posner, and Owl City. 


Comparison: I compare Shawn to another rapper, XV. They both kind of portray the "nerdy-kid gone rapper" theme. 
They both love video games and even there flow in songs is very similar.


A quote by him that really defines who he is and his music is "Every rapper is trying to out 'gangsta' the next....why? Honour Role is all about having fun and making great music".


I'm really hyped for Shawn's debut album "My Name Is Shawn" that is going to be dropping later this year. He has put in extreme amounts of work lately and hopefully he will finally receive the credit he deserves after his album.
